Biography
Jae-Young Choi is Associate Professor, School of Materials Science and Engineering, Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) located at Suwon in KOREA. Prior to joining SKKU, he was a vice president of Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology (SAIT), Samsung Electronics, and a director of Graphene Center of SAIT. He earned his Ph. D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in 1998, and he was a Research Fellow in 1998-99 at Ames Lab, DOE, US. He has co-authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications in scientific journals such as Nature, Science, Nature Nanotechnology and Nature Communications, and also over 400 patent applications related to nanomaterials and their applications, and his current citation is over 12,000. Especially for number of patents related to graphene, he was ranked as the 1st in the world as reported in Mature Materials 2012.
Research Interest
His current research interests are innovative synthesis and device applications (transistor, battery, and membrane) of 2D materials and new nano-structured materials.
